TikTok Missionaries

Special education teaching assistant Jason B. Litton turned to TikTok to learn his students’ lingo. Jason and his wife, Patience (a licensed Assemblies of God minister) started a TikTok channel that grew to nearly a million followers. By September 2020, TikTok had become Jason’s full-time job. More recently Jason was identified as a Black TikTok Trailblazer. The Lintons use social media to talk about family, kindness, and love across different cultures. They have begun helping other pastors learn how to use online media to share the love of Christ.

Key Takeaways:

  • A true twenty-first century love story, Patience and Jason met online thanks to a MYspace blog about interracial dating.
  • The site fostered the growth of the couple’s relationship and a year later the two of them tied the knot.
  • The two along with their adopted children are media icons now. His channel has more than 5 million subscribers. Hers has more than a hundred-thousand.

“Jason and Patience, both preachers’ kids and former Assemblies of God U.S. missionary associates in Miami — along with their adopted children Lillian, 5; Christian, 9; and Harper, 12 — began creating positive content that resonated with global viewers craving something upbeat.”
