Confessions of an Overpacker

I have always been an over packer, ever since the boy scouts, I was told to always be prepared. In case I get a headache or in case I need something while I’m traveling to my speaking engagements, I would always over pack. I realized while I was flying that I didn’t need to do as much as I was doing. There is only so much that I need to pack for. Jesus doesn’t expect us to plan for the worse, since he’s always there.

Key Takeaways:

  • I’ve gone on a lot of speaking engagements and one of the things I hate about traveling is the packing.
  • No matter the decision that I make, god has me, and I can take that to its full advantage.
  • It is unnecessary for me to weigh down my soul and carry things that I wasn’t meant to carry.

“First, I make a schedule of where I’ll be each day of the trip, when I’ll be speaking, and what the appropriate attire should be. Next, I check the weather report and add it to my schedule. Raining on Tuesday… check. Pack umbrella. Then comes the actual dreaded packing itself which usually means trying on outfits and adding accessories.”
