When we talk about God’s goals or plans for our lives, a big question arises in our minds. God, how can I know your goals for my life? I can’t achieve your goals for me if I don’t know what they are. Some people become discouraged because they think that they will never understand God’s goals for their life. However, just think about this for a minute. If God has goals for your life, doesn’t it make sense that He would show you what those goals are? Of course, God wants to show you His goals for your life, so that you can achieve them.
So, today we’re going to be talking about “Seeing God’s Goals For You.” As a believer, how can you figure out the plans that God has for you in the world? What are God’s goals for your life? What is the plan that makes sense of the world and your life? You will never discover those goals by simply looking around at the physical world or even by exploring your innermost thoughts. You have to be able to see in the spiritual world, in order to discern God’s goals for your life.
Today, I’m going to be talking about how you can begin to see the goals that God has for your life. Many believers simply live by reacting to physical circumstances. If they try to do something and it doesn’t work out, must not be God’s plan. If they try to do something else and it does work out, must be God’s plan. Trying to live by circumstances alone as a believer is a recipe for disaster.
Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV) For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
Isn’t it wonderful that God has plans or goals to prosper you and to give you hope and future? As wonderful as those plans are, they are not automatic, they won’t just happen. Most people realize but a fraction of God’s goals for their lives, because they never did see what God’s goals were. If you don’t know what God has planned for your life, how can you make decisions to cooperate with God? You can’t.
That’s why you need to be able to see into the spiritual world to grasp God’s goals for you. You need to learn to receive spiritual vision to live beyond the physical world. In order to receive spiritual vision, you’ve got to prepare yourself. God wants to show you the plans He has for you, but you’ve got to be prepared. How can you prepare?
