Share Your Faith with Prayer (Acts 3:1-12)

Today, my message is entitled “Share Your Faith with Prayer.” We’re going to be talking about how prayer can be an incredibly powerful means to share your faith with others. Not only is prayer an effective tool to share your faith, it is something that every believer can use. I am very excited about the Word that God has given me to share with you this morning. I believe that if we can understand, commit to and put into action what God wants to teach us this morning, it will radically change each of our lives and our church as well.

But first we need to see what God’s Word says about the value of prayer. When we truly understand the value and power of prayer, we will have the faith to utilize it and see great things happen for God. So, what is the value of prayer?

  • Prayer brings the Lord near

Psalm 145:18 (NIV) The LORD is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.

  • Prayer brings God’s blessing

Romans 10:12 (NIV) For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile–the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him,

  • Prayer brings help in time of need

Hebrews 4:16 (NIV) Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

  • Prayer brings physical healing

James 5:15a (NIV) And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up.

  • Prayer brings joy

John 16:24 (NIV) Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete.

  • Prayer brings understanding

Jeremiah 33:3 (NIV) ‘Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.’

Prayer has incredible value because it brings the supernatural power of God into people’s lives and situations. Prayer can bring the blessings we read about into your life and prayer can bring those same blessings into the lives of people who are far from God. Prayer can draw people closer to God. Prayer can bring the lost to salvation. I believe that prayer is one of the easiest and most effective ways to share your faith with people you know who are not yet believers.

When we talk about sharing our faith, we tend to think about the words of truth we would convey. But the Gospel is not just about words, it is about the power of God working in and through us to touch people’s lives for Jesus. So, how can you share your faith with prayer?

  1. Write more, thats all I have to say. Literally, it seems as though you relied on the video to make your point.

You definitely know what youre talking about, why throw away your intelligence on just posting videos
to your weblog when you could be giving us something informative to
    read?

The video is me (Pastor Dan) giving the whole message. It would be too much for a blog to transcribe the whole video, so I have chosen to transcribe the introduction and then post the video. Please watch the video to get the complete message.
